Our first blog is going to highlight Cassie: her background, love story, and pregnancy. Later we will share about the trials of being a military spouse, dealing with transition, and some of her struggles of becoming a parent with hearing loss.
Cassie is a 25-year-old esthetician and military spouse, married to Justin, who is serving in the US Navy. They have been married for 3 1/2 years. In their first year of marriage, they acquired a Boston Terrier/Pug/Frenchie mix dog, Oliver, who is quite a character. As I am writing this blog, Cassie and Justin are expecting their first child.
Cassie and Justin’s Love Story
Cassie and Justin met in their junior year and became high school sweethearts. Cassie was the new girl and, when Justin first laid eyes on her - in his own words - his heart stopped beating for like a second! Cassie was a flyer on the cheer squad and Justin was #8 on the football team. Though she did not pay much mind to him, he was determined to get to know her. Eventually, he got up the nerve to ask her to homecoming, and they’ve been together ever since.
Cassie and Justin became the Salazar’s on August 3rd, of 2019!
Cassie and Justin are now expecting their first child. Little Mia Grace is due at the end of April; however, her daddy, Justin, is deployed on the USS Nimitz until July. So, Cassie (and her dog) are staying in North Idaho with her parents until Justin returns.
